MVP hosts second-annual color run in Quincy

Color Run
Posted on 04/25/2023

Runners arrived at Pioneer Park in Quincy wearing white and Earth Day-themed costumes on Saturday, April 22, excited for a colorful fun run. The event was organized by Plumas Charter School’s Mountain Valley Parents Club as a fundraiser for student activities at the Quincy Learning Center.

Veering into the Plumas County Fairgrounds from the park, racers encountered several color stations. They sped through water misters and then were blasted with powdered color as they emerged, resulting in colorful clothing and smiles. Both adults and kids participated in the race and prizes were awarded to the top finishers and best group costume. Aidan Powers, Mikey Oravetz, Dylan Miller and Owen Schad were the first racers at the finish line.

This was MVP’s second annual color run and they hope to host the fundraiser every year. MVP Club is looking for more parents to join and help plan school activities and events for the 2023-2024 school year. They would like to invite PCS parents to join them at their next meeting on Wednesday, May 3 at 5:30pm. Visit the MVP Facebook page for more information.

PCS would like to say thank you to the parent, staff and student volunteers as well as their business sponsors; Healthy Bodies Fitness Center, Gott Powersports, Mountain Mattress, Feather Financial, Les Schwab, The Toy Store, Lost Sierra Honey Co., Plumas Bank, Quincy Pharmacy, Feather River Food Co-Op, Ben Elledge Painting and Grocery Outlet.
