As part of the bidding process for the construction of its new Quincy facility, Plumas Charter School held a pre-bid meeting Aug. 14 to introduce contractors to the plan and site and allow them to raise any concerns.
Project manager Nick Trover and PCS Executive Director Taletha Washburn presented preliminary plans and timeline information to four contractors during the meeting at 80 Main St.
After the presentation, the group walked the site, located on Kelsey Lane and Quincy Junction Road behind Quincy High School. Wading through star thistle with a view of Mount Pleasant and Spanish Peak as a backdrop, they discussed further details, such as parking, access to water and power, and weather-dependent construction scheduling.
Washburn and Trover indicated that they hope to break ground as soon as possible after the building plans are finalized, perhaps as early as November.
