Lights, camera, action! The parent clubs from Greenville Elementary School and Indian Valley Academy Elementary joined together to put on a talent show open to all kindergarten through sixth-grade students in Indian Valley.
On Friday, March 24, aspiring singers, dancers, musicians and entertainers gathered at the Taylorsville Hall to showcase their acts to an audience of teachers, family members and friends. Each performer received a free milkshake voucher from Region Burger in Greenville as a thank you for their work.
Indian Valley Parents Club (GES) and Mountain Valley Parents Club (IVA) hope to make the Talent Show an annual event. “We held a fundraiser dinner before the show and the proceeds from that will be divided up to support student activities at both schools,” said IVA elementary teacher, Lauren McIntyre.
The parent clubs work together often to enhance activities for all students. The two clubs put on a similar show pre-COVID at the Greenville Community Center and they paired up last year to host an end-of-the-year Chautauqua event for the kids. Both clubs also pitched in funds to bring a planetarium presentation to the GHS gymnasium for students to enjoy next month.
