Emergency

In an emergency, dial 911. Operators can connect callers to appropriate resources as needed.

Child Abuse (including sexual abuse)
Call 1-800-4-A-CHILD (422-4453) or visit Childhelp.

To help prevent child sexual abuse, including dealing with inappropriate feelings, visit Stop It Now! or call 1-888-PREVENT.

More information and help for survivors of abuse is available from Psychology Today, The Lamplighter Movement, Male Survivor, TAALK (Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids), Survivors of Incest Anonymous, 1in6 (for men who have been sexually abused), and MOSAC (for parents of children who have been sexually abused).

Counseling
Plumas Charter School offers counseling services; contact Lori Hahn at 530-283-3851 to set up an appointment.

Plumas Rural Services (530-283-2735) provides a range of counseling options, including support for trauma recovery, child abuse treatment, and domestic violence victims.

Crisis Intervention
Call the 24/7 Plumas-Sierra Crisis Line at 530-283-4333 or 1-877-332-2754.

In Quincy, the Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center offers a range of support services, and can also help refer to other resources.

To reach the Plumas County Sheriff's Office  in a non-emergency situation, call 530-283-6300.

Text 741741 to talk to a trained volunteer regarding any type of crisis.

LGBTQ

The Plumas County Gay-Straight Alliance meets regularly.

Advocacy and support is available at the Stonewall Alliance Center in Chico.
