Jacey Taylor is a recent graduate of Plumas Charter School. She’s from the class of 2021 and finishing up her first year at Lassen Community College. Even though she is at the beginning of her educational journey, she already has an impressive career in mind; independent animator.
She plans to complete her associate’s degree at LCC and transfer to a California State University to work toward a bachelor’s degree in animation.
When she isn’t studying or working, you might find her drawing, animating, playing virtual reality video games, listening to music or exploring 3D modeling. She also enjoys the occasional campus activity like bingo.
Jacey said that three instructors from PCS stand out as influential to her success; Brittini Wade, Casey Peters and Hannah Stewart. “To be fair, all of my teachers were influential,” said Taylor. I asked her about a favorite memory from her time at PCS and she remembers the time that the high school teachers started pranking each other, causing an all-day prank war.
Jacey’s Quincy teachers made learning fun and the structure of the school prepared her for life after graduation. She said the flexible schedule helped her navigate a work, life balance. Now in college, she is able to work on campus part-time and keep up with her school work.
Good luck, Jacey!
