If you’ve driven by the Plumas Charter School construction site in East Quincy lately, you have noticed an increase in activity. “Exciting progress has been made,” said PCS Executive Director, Taletha Washburn. She met with Construction Superintendent, Scott McCollum, Project Manager, Nick Trover, and Assistant Project Manager, Derec Flowers earlier this week to do a walkthrough of the site.

The building footprint is currently outlined with wood framing anticipating pouring the concrete footings, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, December 7th. The underground plumbing is laid, as is much of the underground electrical. The schedule for the next month includes completing all of the concrete-work footings, building pad, sidewalks and the onsite parking lot. After all of the concrete work is completed, the site will shut down for the winter.

At this time, the delivery of the metal building materials is scheduled to arrive no later than April, but hopefully earlier. Once completed, the new facility will house Quincy kindergarten through twelfth-grade students, staff and administration. PCS is hopeful to start the 2022-2023 school year in the building.
