Elegant gowns, sharp tuxedos, twinkling lights and packed dance floors set the scene as high school students from Plumas Charter School celebrated two memorable prom nights on May 9, each reflecting the unique personality and spirit of its campus community.
Students from Quincy Learning Center gathered at the historic Plumas County Courthouse for an “Evening Under the Stars”-themed prom, while Indian Valley Academy students celebrated a “Black Tie Affair” at the new Open Door building at the Greenville Southern Baptist Church.
At the Quincy Learning Center prom, the courthouse was transformed into an evening venue inspired by the night sky. Soft lighting, music and star-themed decorations created an elegant atmosphere as students danced, visited with friends and posed for photos throughout the evening. The historic courthouse setting added a classic backdrop for the celebration, where students gathered on the courthouse steps for a group photo to commemorate the evening.
Meanwhile, Indian Valley Academy students arrived dressed for a formal black-tie evening at Greenville Southern Baptist Church’s newly completed Open Door building. The venue provided a fresh and welcoming space for students to celebrate together, featuring music, dancing and time to make lasting memories with classmates before the school year comes to a close.
Both events were made possible through the efforts of school staff, and the Mountain Valley Parents Club who helped organize decorations, coordinate logistics and create memorable experiences for students.
