Posted on 01/23/2025

As the Warriors head into the later part of the 2024-2025 basketball season, both the boys and girls Varsity teams of Plumas Charter School have showcased remarkable performances, highlighting their dedication and competitive spirit.

Boys Varsity Basketball Team

The boys varsity team has been a formidable force this season, boasting an impressive overall record of 17-4 and an unblemished league record of 7-0, positioning them at the top of the Pioneer League standings. Their success can be attributed to consistent teamwork and standout performances from key players.

A notable highlight was their recent 62-52 victory over the Loyalton Grizzlies on January 17. In this matchup, junior forward Dalton Bentz delivered a stellar performance, recording a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Seniors Owen Joseph and Kooper Clark also gave impressive defensive efforts. This game marked the Warriors' ninth consecutive home win, underscoring their dominance on their home court.

Girls Varsity Basketball Team

The girls varsity team has demonstrated resilience and growth throughout the season. With an overall record of 7-13 and a league record of 4-1, they currently stand strong in their division. The team's determination is evident in their recent performances.

On January 17, the Lady Warriors faced the Loyalton Grizzlies and, despite a valiant effort, fell short with a 41-35 loss. This game ended their four-game home winning streak. However, the team's earlier victories, including a commanding 60-28 win over Elk Creek on January 10, highlight their potential and competitive edge.

Looking Ahead

Both teams are gearing up for the end of the season with optimism. Both varsity teams are heading to Herlong on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 4 p.m. The boys team is aiming to extend their winning streak and the girls team is seeking to bounce back and strengthen their league standing. The girls will face off against Loyalton in their last game on February 7 at the Grizzlies home court.

The Warriors community eagerly supports both teams as they continue to strive for excellence on the court.
