Students at Plumas Charter School’s Quincy Learning Center got an up-close lesson in dairy education when Dairy Princess Aubree Eddy stopped by to share her knowledge about California’s dairy industry. The event featured hands-on activities, a fun goodie bag for each student and a unique chance to learn about the Real California Milk seal.

Eddy, a senior at Hamilton High School and the reigning Dairy Princess for District 3, captivated her young audience with her enthusiasm and interactive teaching tools. One of the highlights of the visit was a life-sized fiberglass milking cow that the students could “milk” themselves, providing an engaging way to learn about where milk comes from and the importance of dairy in their daily lives.

The presentation also introduced students to the Real California Milk seal, explaining its significance as a mark of quality and authenticity for dairy products produced in the state. Eddy’s visit aligns with her broader mission to educate young people about the value of California’s dairy industry, which is a cornerstone of the state’s agriculture.

Eddy’s stop at Plumas Charter School was part of a larger tour of Quincy’s elementary schools. She also visited Plumas Christian, Alder Elementary and Pioneer Elementary schools, ensuring students across the community had the opportunity to participate in this enriching program.

The Dairy Princess program, sponsored by the California Milk Advisory Board, empowers young women like Eddy to serve as ambassadors for the dairy industry. These ambassadors share their passion for agriculture while fostering a deeper connection between consumers and the farmers who produce their food.

Eddy’s outreach efforts extend beyond Quincy, as she represents the dairy producers of her district at various events throughout the year. As a senior, she balances her ambassadorial duties with her academic commitments and plans to continue advocating for the industry in the future.
