Posted on 04/09/2025

The Plumas Warriors' baseball and softball teams have embarked on their 2025 seasons, encountering both triumphs and trials as they strive for success on the field.

Baseball Team Highlights

The Warriors' baseball team has achieved a 5-7 record, demonstrating resilience and potential. A standout performance occurred on April 4, when they dominated Burney High School with an 18-0 victory. In this game, the team boasted a .533 batting average and a .615 on-base percentage, underscoring their offensive prowess.

This win marked their second consecutive victory, following a 15-3 triumph over Hamilton High School on April 1. These back-to-back successes have provided a morale boost and a foundation to build upon as the season progresses.

Individually, senior Owen Joseph has emerged as a key contributor. In the game against Burney, he went 3-for-5, scored three runs, and stole three bases. Notably, the team holds a 3-1 record when Joseph records at least two stolen bases, highlighting his impact on their performance.

Softball Team Highlights

The Warriors' softball team has faced a challenging start, holding a 3-10-1 record. Recent games include a 13-0 loss to Trinity High School on March 29, and a 10-5 defeat against Burney High School on April 4.

Despite these setbacks, individual performances have provided bright spots. Sophomore Lucy Joseph showcased her skills against Burney, going 2-for-3, scoring two runs, stealing two bases, and recording her first RBI of the season. Additionally, sophomore pitcher and infielder Samantha Hymas has maintained a .333 batting average and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage over 15 innings pitched.

Looking Ahead

Both teams are focused on leveraging their experiences to foster improvement and achieve greater success in the remainder of the season. The baseball team's recent victories and standout individual performances highlight their capabilities, while the softball team's perseverance reflects their commitment to overcoming challenges. As the Warriors continue their campaigns, they remain dedicated to representing Plumas Charter School with determination and sportsmanship.
