Greenville's community football game: A night of fun and fundraising
Posted on 09/04/2024

Greenville’s favorite football tradition is making a triumphant return this September. The 11-man, full-contact football game, held on September 14 at the Greenville football field, aims to bring people together for an evening of fun, competition and camaraderie, all while supporting the Plumas Warriors athletic program.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m., with a variety of exciting pre-game activities designed to entertain attendees of all ages. A delicious tri-tip dinner will be available to purchase from the booster club for $12. Adding a splash of fun to the event, athletic director Ryan Schramel will brave the "Dunk the Principal" challenge, giving participants the chance to dunk him in a tank for $2 per ball or $5 for three balls. For those feeling lucky, cow pie bingo will also be featured, with squares available for $10 each.

The highlight of the evening, the football game itself, will start at 7 p.m. Tickets for entry are $10, and all proceeds will go directly to supporting the boosters club’s efforts to enhance Warriors athletics. This game, previously known as the Alumni Football Game, has now been opened to all community members eager to play. It was a favorite fundraiser in the community before the Dixie Fire, and the booster club is thrilled to bring it back, stronger than ever.

“The Community Football Game not only provides an opportunity for friendly competition but also reinforces the bonds that make Indian Valley a special place. It’s about more than just football; it’s about coming together to support our schools, our athletes and each other,” said event organizer Kaley Bentz

Event organizers said that this event promises to be an action-packed, fun-filled evening for the whole family. Whether you’re a player, a fan, or someone who just enjoys a good time, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Come out, bring your friends and family, and show your support for your local community and Warriors athletics.

For more information or to find out how you can play in the game, please contact Kaley Bentz at 530-228-9390.

Plumas Warriors is the athletic program of Plumas Charter School and is open to all PCS students.
