QES students read to PCS studentsWhitney Maez’s Quincy Elementary School fourth-grade class gathered with Inge Stock’s Plumas Charter School kindergarten class at Dame Shirley Plaza on Jan. 31. As part of their participation in the Great Kindness Challenge Week, the older students read to the younger students from books they had chosen and brought from their classroom. The fourth-graders were able to share their interests and display their leadership abilities while imparting literacy and language arts lessons. Afterward, the new friends played group parachute games in the sunshine, which involved coordination and teamwork. “We all just met and we were able to cooperate so quickly,” said PCS teacher Inge Stock to the group. “Thank you!” “It could not have gone better,” said Maez.
