Students Who Have Completed Grade 12 But Have Not Passed the California State High School Exit Exam:
Earning a high school diploma is an important milestone in a young person’s educational career. We want you to be successful as you prepare to participate fully in the larger society. Accessing the educational options available to you will help in that preparation. Please take advantage of these options; we are here to help you succeed.
A recently enacted Assembly Bill (AB 347) states that you are entitled to receive intensive instruction and services for up to two consecutive academic years after completion of grade 12 or until you have passed both parts of the exit examination, whichever comes first. Also, you have the right to file a complaint regarding those services through the Uniform Complaint Procedure as set forth in California Education Code Section 35186.
Please note that you may take the CAHSEE up to five times this coming school year, until you pass it. We encourage you to keep taking the exam until you pass. For specific information, contact Taletha Washburn, Educational Coordinator, at 283-3851.
