Admissions Policy
Plumas Charter School is a public, tuition-free, California public school. Like all California public schools, PCS is non-sectarian and is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, national origin, ability, or disability.
We are chartered to serve students from age 5 to age 18. For kindergarten, we can admit 4-year-olds who will turn five on or before December 2 of the current school year; for first grade, we can accept students who will turn six on or before December 2 of the current school year. We can accept students over the age of 18 if they have been continuously enrolled in school since their 18th birthday.
At present, PCS’s enrollment is open. Should we reach capacity and need to cap enrollment, all applicants not admitted will be placed on a waiting list. Openings in enrollment will be filled on the basis of a lottery, in which student names will be drawn at random. All names not drawn will remain on the list. California state law provides for enrollment preference for students who have siblings already enrolled in an impacted school |
